Whenever I travel, there’s always yarn, hooks, knitting needles and patterns of things I’d love to make in my handbag. I like to keep my options open, so the projects I take with, are always more than the time I have to make them. On a quick stop-over at home late yesterday, between Babylonstoren and the Timbavati, I took stock. I threw out all the wanna-be blankets, sweaters, jerseys, hot water bottle covers etc and decided to keep 4 balls of yarn in my bag for easy beanies. They are the easiest to make up while traveling.
While Neill’s beanie is all knitted, Jane’s beanie has a crocheted ribbing. This makes fitting it initially so much easier than a knitted ribbing.
On #3 I’ll pick up some extra stitches between the crocheted rib and the knitted body for more fullness.
I’ll have more beanies to show next week!
Have a lovely weekend!
